We’re challenging, after 30 games it’s not a fluke – Says David Moyes
West ham move to fourth position after beating wolves at home in a 2-3 tie. Three goals from Jesse Lingard, Pablo Fornals and Jarrod Bowen secure the win for them.
It was a bad night for wolves, losing 3-1 in the first half at home, a goal from Leander Dendoncker and Fabio Silva gave something to hope for, but it was too late when the final whistle sound.
With eight match to go David Moyes’s believes they make the champions league spot, they will be hosting Leicester City in their next match.
Moyes said: “I don’t know if we’re in the final furlong yet, we’ve probably got to go over Becher’s Brook and have some big jumps to go over on the way in.
“Let’s be fair, we’re challenging, after 30 games it’s not a fluke. We are there because we have been playing well enough. If we fall short, we fall short.
“We are thrilled, people are mentioning we are in the top four. We have bobbed in and out of it so let’s hope we can do everything we can to stay there.
“I was massively concerned (with Wolves’ comeback) but we just about got away with it. Good on us, it’s an improvement from the last one (drawing 3-3 with Arsenal).
“It was like the Arsenal game when we did the exact same thing. We were going for a fourth goal and it would have been easier to keep the ball.
“Managing the game is something we have to work on.”
